International Student Orientation (ISO)

Penn State provides orientation programming for both international undergraduate students and international graduate students. Undergraduate students participate in New Student Orientation (NSO), including special NSO for International Students sessions. Graduate students participate in Penn State Global orientation sessions and orientation sessions provided by your academic program. Both undergraduate and graduate international orientation programming includes virtual/online components and an in-person, on-campus orientation upon your arrival. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Academic and social life at Penn State
  • Insurance, immunization requirements, and University Health Services
  • Campus resources and support services
  • Strategies to get the most out of your time at Penn State
  • Important immigration and contact information
  • Meeting with an adviser and scheduling courses (for undergraduate students)
  • Make friends and connections with your peers and orientation leaders

Graduate International Student Orientation - Summer and Fall 2023, University Park

This information is for graduate international students attending the University Park campus. For in-person orientation at other Penn State campuses, contact your campus’s Global Engagement Coordinator.
