Global Engagement and Leadership Experience (GELE)

What is the Global Engagement and Leadership Experience?
The Global Engagement and Leadership Experience is a weekend, off-campus global leadership opportunity. At GELE, we explore the ability to interact across differences at the individual and group level. Our trained facilitators guide you through fun and reflective activities to develop your cultural intelligence - your understanding of culture and ability to strategize, work, and lead in intercultural settings - a crucial skill for any academic major or future career.
Meals and transportation are provided by Penn State Global. Applications open in the early Fall semester.
What will you gain from this experience?
- A Cultural Intelligence (CQ) intercultural assessment
- New skills, knowledge, and perspectives on global leadership
- An opportunity to build new friendships and expand your professional network
- A certificate of completion
What are the qualifications to apply?
- Full-time student status
- An interest in leadership and intercultural self-development
GELE is available to all students regardless of major and year of study. Both domestic and international students are encouraged to apply.
