Penn State Global, Global Engagement is certified to facilitate the following Intercultural Assessment Tools:
- IDI (Intercultural Development Inventory)
- ICS (Intercultural Conflict Style)
- CQ (Cultural Intelligence)
We deliver assessments and related content: both assessment-based and concept-based workshops. Assessment-based workshops include a formal assessment; concept-based workshops introduce the framework and provide wider access.

Intercultural Assessment Tools
Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)
The Intercultural Development Inventory assesses individual and group mindsets towards cultural differences and similarities. IDI results are summarized in easy to understand reports that can help you and your team get started in their intercultural development.
Cultural Intelligence (CQ)
Cultural Intelligence is a globally recognized way of assessing and improving effectiveness in culturally diverse situations. It’s rooted in rigorous, academic research conducted across more than 100 countries.
Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory (ICS)
The Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory (ICS) is a cross-culturally valid and reliable assessment of an individual’s core approach for solving problems and resolving disputes with others.
