Costs and Funding

With proper planning and a commitment to exploring funding resources, studying abroad can be affordable for any budget. There are many factors that influence choice in location and program; one important factor is cost.

Steps to Funding Study Abroad

Affordability is an important factor when selecting an education abroad program. The programs offered through Penn State Education Abroad vary in cost, depending on the features of the program, geographic location, length, inclusions in the program such as excursions and cultural activities, and the level of on-site support.  When researching a program that is both academically appropriate and budget friendly, there are many considerations to take into account.

Billing

Every Penn State student must complete the required forms in LionPATH in order to remain active in the student registration system.  Required forms may include consent to do business online and a financial agreement form to be submitted either annually or each semester. This applies even to students who are away on Education Abroad programs and also to students whose financial aid will cover billable expenses.

Office of Student Aid

If you are not studying on an officially sponsored program, you are not eligible to receive financial aid from Penn State.
