Global Alumni Relations

With the goal of developing a stronger, more interconnected network of international alumni, Penn State has launched initiatives designed to provide opportunities for international alumni living and working around the globe to reconnect with one another, with current and prospective students and with the university.  Whether you live in Shanghai, Barcelona, Beijing or Lima, there are many ways you can get involved and stay connected to Penn State.

Be a Global Alumni Ambassador

Global Alumni Ambassadors represent Penn State around the world: in their local communities, companies and universities. Ambassadors volunteer to host overseas events for Penn State faculty and staff, help identify internship opportunities for Penn State students, serve as contacts for alumni relocating to the region, and help the university update alumni contact information.

Roles and Responsibilities

Global Alumni Ambassadors are volunteers who agree to advocate for the university in a variety of ways, including:

  • Collect and share updated contact information for fellow PSU alumni to update the alumni database.
  • Coordinate and host events for fellow alumni, faculty and staff visiting your region.
  • Serve as a contact and resource for Penn Staters who are relocating to your region or company.
  • Help identify new international internship opportunities for Penn State students.
  • Speak with prospective international Penn State students and parents about your Penn State education and experience.

Share Your Experiences with International Students

International students benefit greatly from interacting with global alumni in formal and informal ways. We offer opportunities for alumni to serve as guest speakers, participate in virtual alumni networking events, resume reviews, mock interviews, career fairs and international career panel discussions.

Get Connected to Penn State’s Global Alumni Network

With more than 500,000 alumni living around the world, Penn State has one of the most powerful alumni network's in the world. Take advantage of this network by joining a Penn State Alumni Chapter in your region.
