International Student Town Halls

July 14, 2020 - Penn State Global Programs in partnership with Penn State Law, hosted a town hall to address concerns regarding the July 6 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement modified temporary exemptions for nonimmigrant students taking online courses during fall 2020 semester and subsequent rescindment.

Joining Global Programs for the event:

  • Roger Brindley, vice provost for Global Programs
  • Masume Assaf, director of International Student & Scholar Advising
  • Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia, associate dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion, a Samuel Weiss Faculty Scholar and Clinical Professor of Law, and director of Penn State’s Center for Immigrants' Rights Clinic
  • Jennifer Campbell, moderator, director of Global Operations & Learning;

April 21, 2020 - Penn State Global Programs hosted a virtual town hall for international students, to provide updates and answers to students’ most pressing concerns regarding the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Participants included:
