Sustainability
Ensuring a sustainable future is an underlying foundation of the University’s 2016-2020 Strategic Plan. Stewarding our Planet’s Resources—with a focus on the water-energy-food nexus is also one of the plan's five thematic priorities. Consequently, Sustainability education and research takes place across the spectrum of the university. Some of this is coordinated through the Penn State Institutes of Energy and Environment and the Sustainability Institute where students can also obtain a minor in sustainability leadership.
Sustainability is a core component of the international research and educational programs in the College of Agricultural Sciences, which offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate minor in international agriculture, as well as graduate programs in international agriculture and Development.
