De Levie Study Abroad Fund
With the generous support of Alvin de Levie, a Penn State graduate in the class of 1973 and Penn State Board of Trustees member, Penn State Global has launched the Dagobert and Elsie de Levie Student Study Abroad Fund. This fund honors the founder of education abroad programming at Penn State, Dr. Dagobert de Levie, and his wife Elsie. Dr. de Levie established Penn State's first international exchange programs in the 1960s and coordinated the academic, cultural, and logistical elements of all Penn State education abroad programs into the 1980s.
Scholarships deriving from the Dagobert and Elsie de Levie Student Study Abroad Fund will support Penn State students studying abroad on a semester or summer program who have demonstrated financial need and have achieved academic success in their time at Penn State. Students who complete the standard scholarship application will be eligible for consideration of this award that typically ranges from $1,000-$3,000.
In partnership with Alvin de Levie, Penn State Global seeks to promote this fund to alumni, friends, and stakeholders of the University who wish to support access to world-class education abroad experiences for Penn State students. Those who wish to contribute to the Dagobert and Elsie de Levie Student Study Abroad Fund may do so on Penn State's development and giving site for the fund.
