This is the official page for the University Park campus Fall UNDERGRADUATE International Student Orientation. Undergraduate International Student Orientation will take place as part of the virtual orientation program offered throughout the summer, with additional components offered in August. Students will receive email updates with additional information.
Welcome to Penn State! We are excited that you have chosen to be a part of the Penn State community and we look forward to supporting you through this transition. Read the Vice Provost for Global Programs welcome letter to incoming international undergraduate students.
The International Student Pathway (ISP) will take place as part of the virtual orientation programs this summer. To sign up for virtual orientation, please visit: https://orientation.psu.edu/participate
The International Student Pathway (ISP) has three components.
- You will be invited to an ISP: Welcome before your virtual orientation session where you will meet Global Programs staff, Orientation Leaders, and fellow international students who will be going to your campus.
- You will be given an additional self-paced online module for international students to help you learn about the American education system, tuition payment options available to you, and other important information.
- After you complete your virtual orientation session, you will be invited to an ISP: Follow-up and Immigration virtual meeting for an opportunity to ask questions about immigration, what fall will look like, and meet with staff from your specific region.
You will be receiving invitations to these sessions and updates from Global Programs staff throughout the summer. We look forward to meeting you virtually!

Parents and Family Orientation Program
In an effort to answer any lingering questions and concerns, we have developed an orientation track specifically for parents and families. The Penn State Parents Program will be hosting New Family Fridays every Friday throughout the summer from 12-3pm EST. One of these programs, on July 31, will be specifically geared towards international student parents, but parents are welcome to attend any Friday. The New Family Friday on July 31 will be at a special time, from 9am-12pm EST and will include:
- A Welcome from Dr. Brindley, the Vice Provost of Global Programs
- Information about Visa and immigration requirements
- Campus Safety
- Bursar Office and Health Insurance
- Opportunities for parent involvement
We will also be having a Parent Welcome during each ISP: Welcome session so that we can connect with parents and answer questions. We will have some language support in these sessions
