After August 14, you will need to make your own housing arrangements.

What to Expect from Fall 2017 ISO

Your group and your Orientation Leader (OL) are the key to a successful Orientation experience. Your OLs will be with you every step of the way; whether over shared meals, during sessions, or on the walk from one event to the next. During the day, the OLs will guide each group in completing essential tasks throughout ISO:

  • Get your Penn State id+ card
  • Activate your Penn State access account (for PSU webmail and more)
  • Get a U.S. cell phone
  • Open a U.S. bank account
  • Learn about visa regulations, insurance requirements and the Penn State Code of Conduct

OLs will introduce you to Penn State language and traditions as well as facilitate discussions on living and renting in the U.S. and how to succeed in the American classroom.  Your OLs and the small groups are your orientation family with whom you share each others culture, experience, thoughts, and questions. ISO provides the time and space for every student to successfully begin their transition to life at Penn State.. Make sure you take advantage of this opportunity to find your place in the Penn State and State College communities.
